Kopi Luwak or
civet coffee is the
most expensive coffee in the world comes from
Indonesia
and most of the island of Sumatra.
Why Kopi Luwak could be the most expensive?
Because red
coffee berries which have been eaten
by and passed through the digestive tract mongoose
(civet Indonesia). The civet eat the fruit, but the beans inside pass through their
system undigested and unique combination
of enzymes in the stomach mongoose which
adds to the taste of coffee that give you a sense
of bitter coffee. supplies are very limited
at only 1,000 kg
in the world market each year.
Apparently the internal digestion ends up adds a unique flavor to the beans,
removing the bitter flavor, and then beans are then picked up by locals and
sold.
You would know if you drank the most expensive
coffee in the world, because the quantities of it are tiny amounts.
